As all good stories do, it started with a love affair.
25 years ago, Benda founder Kate Pascoe moved from Melbourne to Sydney and found herself head over heels in love… with Bronte.
“I mean, how could this place be real? The water, the colours, extreme rock formations and that pool. Best of all, its wild and ever changing nature. It was home.”
Fast forward through some big life events (marriage, two kids - now teens, homewares and marketing businesses, divorce, chronic illness and a big dose of fun too) - in 2020, Kate decided to undergo her pilates teacher training. It was an unexpected pivot, but her passion for teaching was unleashed.
During Covid, Kate started training clients in her garage and the business grew from there. Teaching in some of Sydney’s most beautiful studios (BodyLove Woollahra and Laura Halls Pilates) solidified her love of encouraging people to move. She was hooked.
So when the perfect little space became available right near her Bronte home, she knew it was the start of a new chapter. Within days, Benda took flight. Maybe it had always been inside her, because the concept for the studio just flowed. The desire for a space that welcomes anyone with a desire to be there. An inclusive studio that encourages participation over perfection, feeling good over looking a certain way and all ‘round good times.
All roads lead to Benda - and we are so happy to have you here x
